shooting...yes first time for Austin & Aubreana

Now the first picture you see is Aubreana and she is not sure she wants to try shooting, then when you see her in the video, wow what a change. We had so much fun...G-pa gets his 22 single shot rifle he got when he was 12 years old out and we take the two G-kids out in the cheap jeep on a back road here. So we are up against a hillside for safety and Dave teaches all the safety rules to the two and then they shoot the rifle. Aubreana is a natural... First shot she hits the target dead on. It took Austin a few times to get it but then he was going for it full on too. Now we are not hunters at all but it was just a whole lot of fun shooting the plastic Easter eggs and plastic bottles and cans. We did not get back till after 9:30 and they both had a blast...

G-pa went on a bike ride and the attack of the water balloons...

So Abreana and Austin are having a water balloon toss waiting for G-pa to return from his bicycle ride in 100 degrees weather...Dave is a die hard rider...
Here comes G-pa telling the kids they can not hit his bike....
One more spin around and he actually comes in for his landing...
Dave uses his left over water but is no match for all the balloons the kids have made.
And when all the balloons are gone Aubreana even threw the water out of the Tupperware bowl at G-pa...
In the end they were all cooled off and ready for our next adventure of the evening. Which deserves a blog of it's own.... the fun goes on....

Aubreana and Austin

We have been having fun with the two "older" grandkids. Launching water balloons is a favorite thing to do. They did about 75 on Monday, family night....
Austin is very entertaining...always entertaining... He and Aubreana make a good team. They make me laugh a lot...
They just can't resist when Dave falls asleep to do something to him. Austin rubs his head...
Aubreana thinks G-pa would look great with a boa on......but
I caught her with her quick get away..... he does look cute!
Then Aubreana thought Austin should dress as the Latrine Queen so we had to take pictures.Yes all you younger g-kids this is your big cousin Austin, but then you know how much fun he is....
Cuter than cute, we have been to the movies, we even took Atticus with us family night to see the Panda in Action.(Kung Fu Panda)Atticus was so good. Atticus we will take you again... We have worked on the bush trimming and cleaning up and rented movies, watched a couple of new game shows that made us laugh and gone to In N' Out, yes I said it...yummy... when you come Angela, we will go. But back to Aubreana and Austin...thank-you for making your old G-ma get up and go...go ....go
and making me laugh...between your teasing and G-pas teasing you have made my last couple of weeks a kick....
one month from today Allison graduates Air Force Boot Camp....keep writing her...please....

The Queen of the Latrine leaves for Camp...

This is Aubreana already to leave for girl's camp! She is going to have soooo much fun. It was so nice to be able to spend this time with her and to help her make secret sister stuff and sing camp songs together. Aubreana is such a helper and we love going to movies together and hanging out. The second year Beehives get the job of cleaning the Latrine so I thought it would be fun for Aubre to wear a fun hat, glasses and yes her bag has gloves and supplies(candy treats for when they are done).
This is Aubreana with her friend, Kira. You will not believe this but Kira's Grandma and I graduated from Villa Park High together. Now that is a small world... all these years later, to have our grand daughters be friends in this small town...

This is Kira and Aubreana with three first year Beehives...they will be a great example to these younger girls.... they will have soooo much fun....I can hardly wait to hear all of her stories because I get to keep Aubreana one more week after camp.

Boot Camp!! in Texas

Wow! It seems like yesterday she was a princess! She still is...she just looks tough...

The day I went down to hang out with my G-kids in Vegas as their mom and dad went to New Orleans, Alli left for Boot camp in Texas. Here is a picture that was sent to me by the missionary couple that do Sunday meetings for them. That's Alli with all the guys...

They built a firering..Austin and G-pa!!!

So the boys built a fire ring on Monday but for family night it was a little to windy to build a fire so Tuesday night we built a good fire...Austin and G-pa did an excellent job... then I brought out the goodies to make s'mores....yummy! Jayden liked the sugar high...

Alaina's Baptism

We went down to Vegas on Friday early evening and we stayed at the RIO with Austin and Jayden. Thank-you Frank for our room. It was very nice. Then on Saturday we went to April's home where Alaina was very sick. So Dave and a friend of April's family gave Alaina a blessing so she would be okay for her baptism and she did get better(what a blessing). Alaina liked her comforter made by Dave and me. The baptism was wonderful and then after we went to April's for dinner and we went swimming...well I went swimming with all the kids while Dave and April sat in lounge chairs watching. It was fun and then Dave and I went to the RIO and all the kids stayed at Aprils, even nicer.... Sunday we went to April's ward then dinner with them and we came home, where we found our home in one piece even though Alli had a rocking party with Keith's band here....for reals everything went smoothly....
