BOOT CAMP GRAD, TEXAS...

It started out pretty stormy...first there was a Hurricane Dolly that made life just miserable on Wednesday and Thursday. They canceled out the run in the morning and then we had the tornado and they made us all get into this one building, after being soaked outside...yucky and then the buses never came so we walked in the rain 1 1/2 miles to see the end of their coin exchange but it was worth it...we got to see Alli. On Friday it was cloudy but they stuck to schedule and graduation was spectacular. They are the first class to graduate in their ABU (camouflage) in the history of Lackland. Also Allison's Flight was top flight(Honor Flight) They beat everyone, including all the guys. Allison got her MARKSMAN also(only 5 did) We were so very proud. It was great. She could hardly wait to get off base. She went swimming at the motel, we went to Ripley's Believe it or Not, She just had to sit next to Forrest Gump... We also went and saw the River walk and we went to Sea World since she got an extra day pass off base for being Top Honor Flight. She of course had to eat Panda Express and a Burger King Whopper. Austin enjoyed flying there and hanging out with Allison and swimming till after midnight every night. It was a once in a life time experience and I am so glad that Dave, Austin and I were able to share it with Allison....a little wet and scary but it was wonderful.....

Rain Gutter Regatta, July Pack Meeting

The Rain Gutter Regatta was just all kinds of fun... the boys did an awesome job on their boats and it was fun to watch them be so serious as they made their boats fly down the gutter with their "hot air".... the siblings had fun making paper boats which they shot with water guns to make them go across the little blow up pool....mostly they had a squirt gun fight and one little brother even tried drinking the pool water(yucky). After we all had, what else but"floats". Yummy good. It was an extra fun night and everyone had fun...thank-you to all my helpers.

Fun Visitors

So we had a house full this last week. It is always fun when the grand children come and stay. We did have our daughter, Angela and John come stay with Kylie and Matthew, plus Austin stayed with us too. Also we had Autumn, Keith, Atticus, and Harper come every night. It is always way cool fun to have the cousins together. They had a blast playing games, watching movies and we went to our local bowling alley when it was raining outside. It was so fun to watch Matthew bowl. Kylie was so good at getting the ball down the alley but Matthew had style. Then we even went to Zion National Park, Angela made us the best picnic lunch. The food all the rest of the week was out of this world.Yummy!Amber even joined us a couple of nights. It is just plain good to have the noise of kids in the house. It all ended with some peach picking and then they left for the journey home and I took Austin home last night, but he will be back soon. Thank-you all for coming...G-pa and G-ma loved having you.... come back soon.... notice that g-ma is showing you her tattoo on her tongue from the g-kids fruit roll up, cool, huh?

4th of JULY...and video of crazy Austin

The 4th started out nice. I went to water aerobics and then met Dave at the Parade route. He rode his bike over and I had our chairs all set up. Small town parades are great. I did get teary eyed when we all stood for the FLAG and the Veterans coming down the street. I am more tender hearted since Allison is in the Air Force. We then had a nice quite day at home. Dave got some rest because we had irrigation at 12:30 am. So he did not get enough sleep. Then we went to Autumn's house for dinner and fireworks. It was great.... Jayden came back from visiting her dad and G- parents in California and she lost her top front tooth. Everyone had a fun time eating and playing rock band. Harper got held by everyone and she mostly wanted to sleep. Atticus did not want me to take his picture so look on Autumn's blog for his cute pictures. The video is Austin....Amber said he would learn when he gets hurt. I am glad he did not get hurt...to crazy...you sure can tell his age.Keith had fun, some of his friends were there too. They are all so nice. Keith enjoyed those fireworks on a stick last year sooo much, he had to try them again. way cool; they shoot out sparks like crazy. The tanks were the big hit with the kids. One great thing too was that Allison got to call for a minute. She sounds good. This week is her really hard out in the field obstacle courses and gas chamber thing so remember her in your prayers... We live in the best country...FREEDOM... is what makes the U.S. the best...

Pack Meeting- "GO FOR the GOLD"

My two big "HELPERS" had so much fun getting ready for the pack meeting blowing up balloons for one of the games... they liked the water balloons better...
Some of the parents cheering their sons on. The dads had the best time as I gave them a giant water squirter that they chased each other around with... sorry no pictures to incriminate them.
Her the boys are doing a fun game... blowing and keeping feathers in the air(notice their feathers are not in the air here...they are picking them back up) they had fun.We also did the popping of balloons on the grass area with a Javelin made from pvc pipe and a sharp screw out the end. It was a cool game...
Some of the boys that were still in the pool as they did two Olympic games... one involved picking up the throw sticks at the bottom of the pool. Good way to end with the biggest cool pops before finishing off. We even had a three step podium for them to step up for their medals and certificates. It was all kinds of fun and in July we are doing are rain gutter boat races so I will be sure to have fun pictures for you...

Museum and a fishing we did go...

Austin is always entertaining...
Some day she will actually catch a fish...
This was from the 1940's, it was a snow sled... the forerunner to what we call snow mobiles now... interesting...

For the end of their adventures with G-pa and G-ma we decided to go on a short road trip to Cedar to this funky museum, it turned out to be a cool place with some history learning for us all. Then we took the long scenic route around through Enterprize and Pine Valley and we stopped at Baker's Dam to let Aubreana fish. It was funny. At one point they decided to wade into the water to fish and then Aubreana comes running out yelling that the big fish was chasing her. They did not catch anything but they enjoyed the cooler weather up there and it was a nice picnic too.

Just a quick catch up...Austin shooting...

So I thought it would be nice to give Austin his own blog of his first shooting experience...Good job Austin!!! I think this was a way cool time with G-pa being able to teach them the safety of guns and rifles. For some reason Austin's video will not load but I will come back later and try...meanwhile I will post a cute picture of him...
